Spotted in the parking lot of a bank across from my school.

Why are they still in wrappers? Is there going to be some ribbon cutting?

They want to keep them like new for as long as possible. Kind of like your grandmother’s couch cushions.

Wow that’s an impressive number of chargers. The only Tesla station I know of near where I grew up is at a nice restaurant and there’s like 3 or 4 chargers.

Tesla vehicle charging only
Ok, I feel like I should have seen something explaining this by now, but I guess I haven’t:
What makes it a Tesla-only spot? Does Tesla own that little corner of the parking lot, and this is to shun away other brands? Or is it just a technical issue, and other EVs are allowed to use it, but they physically can’t because the plug doesn’t work on their car?

That enclosure is similar to the one near me. My friend and I got to check it out before they locked it up. So clean and well made. Very impressive.

I watched a nerdy family get out of their model X yesterday evening - hilarious but those falcon door still are awesome...

I believe the plug is a standardized design called the J1772 or something.

Tesla Superchargers use a Tesla-only connector.
You can charge a Tesla using the standard J1772 connector via an adapter, but so far no one else accepts the Tesla adapter.

Ah, that makes sense.
I suppose the sign is then, first and foremost, more of a functional warning against the uneducated that it only works on Teslas, rather than just some silly prohibition against other brands.

Probably, though there is also a little Tesla snobbery, too.
